This Wednesday
February 27, 2009
We were going to have a dodgeball tournament this coming Wednesday. However, given our success at playing dodgeball in the hallway, that may not be a good idea. So, plans have changed, but I am really excited about the teaching series we will start this Wednesday. It is called Mythbusters. For those of you who went on the retreat, it will be based on the old school Jesus videos we watched during one of the sessions. If you want to preview the videos, you can check them out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDSj8sv0uKs. There are 4 videos, so we will talk about 1 each week.
Basically I think we all grow up with some misconceptions of who Jesus really is. Maybe a friend tells us something that is crazy or we are introduced to some ideas that are crazy, but this hits all of us in some way. If this whole thing called Christianity is supposed to be based upon Jesus, it’s probably a good idea (actually, it’s probably a great idea) to look at who he actually is and what he actually stands for. This series will give us a chance to do that. If you come up with any specific questions to ask during the series, ask away. It should be fun.
On another note, please be thinking about going to the Dominican Republic with us. The trip is in July and we will talk about it a little more on Wednesday. Ask away with any questions.
See you this weekend!

Retreat evaluation
February 26, 2009
Hey everyone, I want to let you know about a cool website to check out. You can find it at http://vineyardyoutheast.org. This was created for the churches in our region to share thoughts and input regarding youth stuff. If you went to the youth retreat, please go this site and click on the link, “Retreat Evaluation-Teens.” Please fill out the evaluation form to let us know what you thought about the retreat. When you click on it, it will ask you which retreat you attended. We attended the one in the South, so make sure you check that off. That doesn’t make you Southern, don’t worry; there are very few of us that have that honor.
Hope you all have a good one!

Wish list
February 20, 2009
I don’t know about you all, but right after Christmas, it seems like these AMAZING gadgets come out that I probably would have put on my Christmas wish list had I known they were coming out. SERIOUSLY! Why does that happen?
Anyway, if you like reading at all, you have to check this out: the Amazon Kindle. Wow! This thing will read to you if you plug in headphones and you can make notes and highlight passages that will be sent as notes to your email or to some secret cavern they make for you on Amazon’s website.
Only problem is that it costs a small fortune. Maybe I will sell my teeth or something to get one. The reasons to sell my teeth would be:
1. Dentures are always an option so you would still be able to eat
2. The tooth fairy can deliver some cash for teeth
3. I have always wanted a gold-plated grill anyway so why not upgrade now!
